How do you do? I haven’t seen you for half a year, I miss you so much! However, I am not going to tell you about my school life, I want to tell you something about my summer job this year.
I have recently completed a summer job in Disneyland in this summer holiday. This job was great! It was very funny from the beginning till the end and I have learnt a lot which I can’t learn from my teachers.
I was a helper to help people who came to play. Many people asked me to help them take photos. Also, I have met a lot of people from other countries, so my English is improved by talking to them. Something you can’t believe there was a nice Japanese taught me to say Japanese to thank for my help on my last day in Disneyland.
The most memorable thing in Disneyland was about a little girl. She lost her way and she could not find her parents. When I saw her, she was crying and sitting on the floor. I brought her to our Helping Centre and asked an officer for help. Her parents came to her after half an hour, the little girl gave me a chocolate to give thanks to me. I was so happy to help her because she was the first one who needed my help at my work on the first day.
I must go to find another job after my exam next year. I want to work on more types of jobs to learn more techniques that can help me to communicate with different people or deal with different things in my future.
When will you be back to Hong Kong? I want to have a face to face chat with you. And I want to know about your live in Canada. Then, I will ask my father to go to Canada and find you.

Learning English through Sport Communication-One student, One sports team. (6A Law Yeung Yeung)
The recent proposal by the Sports Club that all students in our school should be required to join a sports team at school has aroused wide concern among students. Those people who are in favour of it opine that it is a good way to motivate students to do exercises regularly; those who stand on an entirely different ground conceive that it is an infringement of their human rights. Divergent as people’s views on this issue in question maybe, I am inclined to support this proposal.
First and foremost, it can encourage our students to exercise regularly. Our society has already been running out of motivation to do sports for a very long time, especially students! Our students, among hustle and bustle, do not have much spare time because of the heavy workload and the rapid pace of life. Even though they have some spare time, they prefer taking a rest in the bedroom or playing computer games to do exercise. Moreover, there is a serious shortage of sport facilities in our community. They lack the chances to exercise. All these are discouraging people from doing exercise.
Also accountable for this view is that sport is vitally important to every one’s health. It is undeniable that doing exercise is good for every individual’s health. Some significant health benefits such as building up better immune system and strengthening body functions are from time to time highlighted by health experts. Asking our students to join a sports team at school can probably benefit our students’ health a lot.
Another reason is that joining a sports team at school could also help to strengthen students’ team spirit. Most of the Sports Clubs in our school, ranging from the football team to swimming team, require students to cooperate and work together towards a common goal. Through team sports, teammates can nurture teamwork with each other by effectively communicating with teammates and a strong sense of belonging and team spirit is also developed. Apart from team spirit, most sports are done with others. It can also increase the chance of making more friends and enlarging our social circle.
Judging from the arguments presented above, I strongly subscribe to the idea that students in our school should be required to join a sport team. Nevertheless, in order to make the proposal acceptable to the wider school community, our school should have a comprehensive consultation on this issue before making the final decision.

Sex education should be a compulsory part of the secondary curriculum (6B Alex Luk)
Sex education imperative in secondary curriculum
'14-year-old girl being pregnant.’ ‘No sex education in secondary schools.’ In recent years, newspapers have been flooded with headlines as such. Not many years ago, the Hong Kong government also considers imposing sex education in the secondary school as a compulsory part. However, this can be a mixed blessing. Some are in favour of this notion because many teenagers nowadays seem to lack appropriate knowledge about sex. Despite this, in view of complex and hectic curriculum, whether sex education is made compulsory remains a big doubt. Both sides of the arguments are supported with sound reasons. It is worthwhile for us to examine why there is such a conflict and the following essay evaluates the pros and cons of it.
Imposing sex education compulsorily wastes time. It goes without saying that the new senior secondary curriculum is harsh due to the complicated, complex and bulky and content. More often than not, almost all teachers have to sacrifice their spare time to time students so as to tackle the public exam. Recent reports have stated, to many people’s surprise, that as many as 81 percent of secondary six students were extremely worried about their public exam on the grounds that not many of them have finished the whole curriculum. Therefore, they simply don’t have more time to be subjected to sex education.
Another argument against the imposition of sex education compulsorily is that it is useless to be done. I would like to raise a question. ‘Did our parents and teachers have lessons about sex education in their secondary schools?’ The answer is simply no. Consequently, the proposal seems to fail as human can learn sex education by themselves while growing up. Why can’t this new generation learn this by themselves?
However, whether imposing sex education compulsorily is a double-edged sword.
Nowadays, inappropriate information is more easily to teenagers owing to the advancement in technology. As we all know, teenagers are eager to explore themselves more in this stage. In addition, thanks to the rapid development in internet, most of us can easily get access to more information about sex. If they had received some pornographic photos or watches some uncensored videos, they development might have been adversely affected. Nevertheless, if they had received sex education in schools, they would have developed a sense that those messages are exactly wrong and then skipped those information.
Moreover, sex education not only includes physical aspect, but also includes mental and social aspect. As for the mental and social part, teens would learn how to get along with the others, especially with the opposite sex. What’s more, it also includes how to form a blissful family and play their roles. All these kinds of knowledge couldn’t be found in any subjects now. That’s why some suggest that sex education is imperative.
Judging from the arguments presented above, on balance, I am of the opinion that the advantages of imposing sex education compulsorily in secondary curriculum may offset some of the disadvantages. To put another way, students’ physical and mental developments are pivotal even reducing more time on studies. The government should not just look on with folded arms, instead, should give out more funds to schools to carry out sex education. There is an urgent need for the government to implement this in response to the growing youth problem arising from lack of sex-related knowledge.

Compensated Dating (6C Ng Kwok Ho)
Summary:
Compensated dating originated in Japan. It refers to the phenomenon that young girls accept money from men in exchange for their companionship. They seek patrons in forums by leaving personal information and some content of the dating. At least several hundred dollars can be earned in each dating. Therefore, it is a way to have extra income, but the risks are as much abundant. Since those girls face the strangers alone, those men may rob or kill the girls.
Comments:
For me, compensated dating must be banned as soon as possible. It is sad that those teenage girls say there are advantages behind compensated dating so they are engaged in the activity. Undoubtedly, disadvantages outweigh the advantages.
Ah Yan, one of the girls who was once engaged in compensated dating that she had to face a high risk because she might not be able to deal with a perverted customer and may be ill-treated or even killed as a result.
On the other hand, since sexual intercourse may be involved, girls may contract venereal disease. I believe it is really bad to be involved in compensated dating, girls should not take the risk to go on compensated dating.
To tackle this social problem, what parents should do is to pay more attention to the needs of their children’s financial status. They should find out the reasons why their children suddenly become rich. Our government may also monitor the chat rooms and forum in the Internet since most compensated girl seek their clients there.
However, the most effective solution is to help the girls think positively about themselves. They should reflect on the values of money. Besides, they have to find the correct way to face their loneliness. For example, they may chat with social workers or try more ways to make some friends in sports and music activities.

My Diary (6D Chiu Pui Fan)
Today when you went to the washroom at recess, you saw a group of Secondary 3 students smoking in the toilet. Write an entry in your diary describing what you saw, what you did and how you felt about the incident.
Dear diary
What will you do if you see a teenager smoking? Today, when I went to the washroom at recess, I saw a group of secondary 3 students smoking in the toilet.
At the first recess, Chris and I went to the toilet together. When we walked into it, I could smell and feel cigarette smoke all over the femal toilet. “Bang!” The door of a toilet stall was kicked and we were frightened by this big sound! Although we didn’t press our faces against the door of that toilet stall, we also could hear the girls, who were inside the toilet stall, called each other bad names and used foul language! We ignored them, it was because we were really scared! After a few minutes, when I wanted to go outside, the group of secondary 3 students came out from the toilet stall. I looked back to the girls. I saw one of them threw her cigarette on the floor, after, she got a new one out of the pack and lighted it up. I felt really angry! I told Chris, “Don’t let them go.” And I went to staff room to find. Mrs. Wong. Of course, Mrs. Wong caught them.
Honestly, I felt scared in this incident. However, I was more angry than afraid!
Although they weren’t taking drugs, smoking is harmful to health, it is a hard fact. Maybe, this group of girls thought “Smoking is my business!”, but we know, ciagrette smoking can affect the environment, such as the growth of plants and cause the global warming. Moreover, I think they should respect the feelings of others, secondhand smoke can harm non-smokers – other students. I think they learnt a lot of common sense in the biology lessons, inhaling secondhand smoke is more harmful than inhaling first-hand smoke! And smoking will bring the risk of lung cancer, gum disease, or effects women’s reproductive health.
By the way, I think the tennagers will not smoke cigarettes suddenly. Maybe, they were initating their parents or their favorite idols. Maybe, their friends encouraged them to smoke. Maybe, the teenagers had too much pressure. I think the parents and teachers play a central role in combating underage smoking. They should pay attention to students’ emotion, and help the teenagers to solve the problems or presssure. Futhermore, the celebrities are the public figures, I think they shouldn’t smoke and be a role model for young people.

High-speed Train Accident in China (6A Au Ka Ho)
Comment:
It seemed that it was an accident. Actually, after the accident there was another story. In fact, I here express my sadness about the accident happened, but more sadly was that in order to ensure the high-speed train could work as soon as possible, the Chinese government disregarded human life. The work of searching and rescuing still had not been finished yet, but the government just stopped the action. That’s very inhumane.
Prime Minister Wen Ka Po always says that our country is human-centred, but how about now? Saying one thing and doing another. So how can we trust our country with this irresponsible action? Of course not!
However, there was a piece of news that’s good for the relatives of the victims in this event. That’s the first compensation deal which has been struck between authorities and relatives of victims. Although it is better to get back the lives of the victims rather than money, we knew that it is impossible. A little is better than none. I hope that the relatives of the victims can accept the compensation and live their lives to the fullest.
We always encounter many kinds of difficulties in life. Some people would like to end their lives while some people want to look at the bright side. We should face any kinds of problems optimistically so that we could have a positive life.

Summary:
This article is about the civil war happened in Libya. Till now, the rebels claimed to be in control of most of Tripoli after a lightning advance on the capital and the declaration of the end of Muammar Gaddafi’s rule. The rebels went out to celebrate their victory and the alliance promised to maintain its air campaign until all pro-Gaddafi forces surrender or return to barracks.
Comments:
No matter which side “wins” finally, it’s totally a tragedy. This rebellion has lasted for months. Many people including civilian soldiers and rebels died in this civil war. This cost is too high. Nothing can be more valuable than life.
I remembered the beginning of the war was just a civil war between the Gaddafi’s government and the rebels. But finally, it became an “international” war. The alliance blamed Gaddafi for his armed suppression and used this as an excuse to intervene militarily. The rebels might think they had got a helping hand but actually, the alliance created a mess for Libyan people. None of the two sides wanted to give in. They just couldn’t work out the solution and could only fight each other. Without any doubts, the air strike of the alliance has aggravated the clash between two sides. Although the suppression by Gaddafi was absolutely wrong, how about the alliance’s air strike? They even used the excuse of tracking down Gaddafi to provide arms for the rebels. Although it might be difficult, why didn’t they solve the problem in a peaceful way? At least, they should try their best to do so. It’s always not easy to be a peacemaker. I hope the alliance would finally help the Libyan people by ending the conflict peacefully. A helping hand instead of bombs should be given to the people.

After the earthquake stuck Japan, a lot of victims have been suffering from the pain of losing their families and homes. Besides, there are so many people who want to show their support for the people in Japan. Some of them found a way to do so by folding origami paper cranes. Elderly people are our beloved friends in our society. In the bygones days, contributing to the world, these senior citizens are worth enjoying their blomming lives in retirement. Nowadays, however, disheartening experiences are faced; solitary elders and inadequate welfare are the most lamentable phenomenon in this society.
“Solitary elders” the elders who live alone without any help or concern from their relatives. This distressing problem is induced by the indifference of the elders’ children. Looking after their parents is the fundamental responsibility. These people, however, evade this duty which should be shouldered by themselves deservedly. Some of them consider living with the elderly as a heavy burden which is very annoying. It may be regarded as a waste of money in some unfiliar child’s eyes. Shan Shui Po, an epicentric of solitary elders revealed this graves phenomenon to us. A solitary elder needs to face many difficulties that we have never imaged. From dancing alone in the living room, cooking for themselves, rescuing themselves even there are accidents. All these problems can harm the senior citizens, not only in physical condition, but mental one. This harms our elders, mirroring our failure on morality and education.
Inadequate welfare is another sorrow that the elders are facing. The only welfare that can really support their lives is the old age allowance. HK$1035 is provided by the government every month in order to acknowledge our adoration to the senior citizen. Nevertheless, as the problem of solitary elders intensified this allowance becomes a mainstay to the old to live. A strong contrast when we compare the
situation in Hong Kong and Sweden. The Swedish Government provides sufficient welfare to the elders. The expenditure on creating a barrier-free-environment is unlimited. It reveals that the Swedish Government is unlimited. It reveals that the Swedish Government has spared no pains on caring the old. When we take a closer look at the content of Hong Kong’s old age allowance, we will find that it is of no sufficiency for an elder to live. A breakfast in a restaurant costs 20 dollars food from the market cost 30 dollars. Transportation costs 10 dollars per day. There are still costs that are not included. However, the elder is only able to spend 30 dollars daily. What a hard life they have!
Pampering the elderly with love and care, we, both government and citizens should uphold the following ideas to lift the living standard of the old. The government can channel more and more resources to the elderly. The amount of the allowance on elderly should be expanded. The government can refer to the elderly policy of Sweden. Infinite fund should be provided to create a barrier-free-environment. Removal of bath and replacement of shower, installation of handrails beside toilet, these facilities can escalate the home safety. We, as citizens, should shoulder our duty to give our concern to the elders, especially the solitary elders. We can visit our neighbor and comprehend what they need. We can cook meals, prepare the requisite medicine, and dispose the waste for them. To us, we just lift a finger, but a staggering appreciation from the old.
The government tries to “help” the family to take care of the elders, rather than “replace” the family to take care of the elders. No matter how much the government or the community does if their children refuse to shoulder their own responsibility, all what we done is zero. As a son or daughter, we should always be grateful to our parents for providing love and care when he are still kids. It is time for us to repay our pampered elder to show them with love and care.

With their help, we will build a micro-garden and learn more about environmental sustainability through organic plant cultivation on campus. A new teacher, our new friend (2E Lam Lok Yin)
In this new year, there are many new teachers in our school. However, do you know them well? We would like to introduce a teacher to you. Who is the teacher? ------Miss Cheung Yuen Ting, Jasmine.
Miss Cheung is a young teacher who is only twenty-something now. She was a translator before but she thought this job was too boring. She gave up this job and planned to teach English since then. She believed that English is so important and can help us to communicate with others.
So why did Miss Cheung choose our school? Miss Cheung told us that it is because of the Christian belief of Ma Ko Pan, and the good reputation of our school is also a contributing factor. We asked Miss Cheung whether she has taught junior students before, she smiled to us, and answered us 'I haven't, but I am the English teacher of two classes of F.2 this year. Is this a big challenge to her? What is the different between junior form and senior form? Miss Cheung answered us, ' Of course! Junior students are funny. They need more activities and games while learning new things. How are the students of Ma Ko Pan in Miss Cheung’s eyes? ‘I think Ma Ko Pan students are hard-working and self-disciplined. They are also very active because most of them have joined different extra-curricular activities.’ Oh, we have given such a good image to Miss Cheung and made her happy for this.
To be good teachers, they must have their own target to reach. Also, the image what they establish in students' eyes is important too. What is the image of Miss Cheung want to build up? 'I want to be a teacher as well as a friend of students. Also, I hope to be friendly and caring.' Miss Cheung really wants to be a good teacher and help us, right? If you need to use few words to describe yourself, what would you like to use? Miss Cheung described her as a quiet and optimistic person, always feeling gratitude for everything and fond of teaching and learning.' Smile is important to us. If the teacher doesn't like smiling, the atmosphere will be strange, right? Miss Cheung likes teaching with her passionate heart. We think that she devotes to teaching.
In this face-to-face interview, we have known more about Miss Cheung. Miss Cheung has a beautiful heart for teaching. She has great preparation for every lesson. She wants us to learn more things in each lesson to enrich our knowledge. Therefore, she always asks whether we have any problem in class. She wants to be a teacher and friend of us. Elderly problems in Hong Kong (7B Many Chud)
Nowadays, elderly people face many difficulties, such as poverty, unemployment and lack of retirement protection. There is an increasing number of elderly people who rely on the Comprehensive Social Security Assistance from the Government for their livelihood. Moreover, reports of physical and psychological abuse of old people by family members are on the rise. In this essay, I would like to discuss the difficulties elderly people face nowadays and suggest ways that the Government, community groups and families can do to solve the problems.
First of all, many elderly people suffer from different chronic diseases, such as heart disease, high blood pressure and Alzheimer’s disease. When people are getting old, their body functions may become worse; they may easily suffer from various illnesses. What is more, their immune system may become weaker; once they suffer from an illness, it usually takes a long time for them to recover. Thus, health problems are one of the challenges elderly people have to face.
Secondly, the elderly are experiencing a changing lifestyle. When people retire, their lifestyle change; they will have more free time than before. If they do not have any interests or hobbies or they simply have nothing to do, they will feel bored and some, especially males, may find themselves useless. Emotional problems may occur and this will in turn affect their physical condition.
Thirdly, some elderly people are living in poverty. It is not uncommon to see elderly people scavenge paper boxes and cans on the street. These elderly people have to rely on scavenging to maintain their livelihood. They are helpless and lonely people. Some may think they had not saved enough money for retirement, but this is not true. The truth is they were very hardworking people when they were young, but because of high inflation rate, the money they had saved shrank in value. Whatever the reason is, the problem of poverty is still haunting some of our elderly people.
The above three are just some of the difficulties elderly people face. Now, I would like to put forward some suggestions as to how the Government, community groups and families can help.
First, medical services are very important, especially in an aging population. It is vital for the Government to expand its medical services so that all the elderly get the treatment they need. With the expansion, the waiting time for a consultation in public hospitals can also be shortened, which means the elderly do not have to spend hours waiting and thus have more time to rest. Also, if there is more manpower in the public health care system, I suggest that a body check be given to the elderly once a year so that early symptoms of different diseases can be detected. A strong and capable health care system is essential to ensure a healthy aging community.
Second, the Government should expand the budget for social security schemes for the elderly. The elderly had contributed a lot to society when they were young; they should enjoy a happy life in their old age without worrying about money. The Government should also build more nursing homes for the aged so as to provide those who are unable to take care of themselves with nursing care. Different community groups can also help to ease the elderly problems by being more involved in elderly services. They can organize more activities and short trips for the elderly. Home visit is also a very important part in elderly services. The community groups can visit the elderly, especially those who are living in solitude, chat with them and help them buy daily necessities so that they feel love and care.
According to a recent survey, the elderly wish to spend time with their family more than anything else. So, family members should spend more time with them. Having a meal with them or chatting with them already makes them very happy. The elderly face different challenges in their life and they may need help from the government or community groups, but it is the love and care from their family that they want most.
To give the elderly a better, dignified life, the Government, community groups and families should join hands and work together. The Government should expand its medical services and elderly services in order to improve the living condition of the elderly; community groups should be more involved in elderly services; families should spend more time with their elderly and take better care of them. A letter to my primary school teacher (2A Pearl)
Dear Miss Kee,
Hi, Miss Kee. How are you? I am Pearl. Do you remember me? I was your student two years ago. Do you know which school I am studying in? Yes! I am studying in Ma Ko Pan Memorial College.
In my secondary school, there is a very big playground. Every day, I line up there. My secondary school is a Christian school, so I need to pray every day too. Be honest, I enjoy praying to God. Because of God, I found my purpose in life, that is study hard and respect my parents. These two things are also behaviours of Makopanians.
In my class, there are 37 students. I love them very much. They are helpful and friendly. I like to study with them, play with them, and, of course, pray with them.
On the other hand, I have joined a uniform team – HKAC (Hong Kong Adventure Corps). This is a good uniform team. We hold one to two training sessions each month. And I need to go camping every month too. In AC, I have learned a lot of things. First, I learned how to look after myself. And then, I learned how to march. I like marching very much! Finally, I learned how to get along with others. These three things are very important in my life. I enjoy my secondary school life!

This book is about Sherlock Homes. Sherlock Homes is a detective. He is clever and good at solving problems. He is concentrated on his works and cases. He used his brain correctly and easily solved the crimes.
This book has four stories about Sherlock Homes’ cases. In the stories, they have shown how smart Sherlock Homes was. The most interesting story is about three students. I thought it is easy for us to understand because the problems presented in the story is familiar to all of us – Examination.
Mr. Wilson Soames is a teacher in a university. The exam papers had been copied by someone. It was because someone wanted to get a scholarship, it is a large amount of money. Sherlock Homes knew that someone was cheating, but the exam day was coming. Homes had to find the solution quickly. He asked the students who lived in the university. Homes thought and asked. Finally, he found who copied the exam papers. He was a student – Gildnst, who studied in the university. Everyone thought he was a rich and good student. But his father lost all his money and Gilchrist did that because he was poor. Banister thought Gilchrist’s father was a good man, so he wanted to help Gilchrist.
I thought that Gilchrist was a good boy in nature but he only wanted to relieve his father’s pressure. This story inspired me a lot and I know that I need to treasure the things I have. Even Hitler can’t buy salt! (2C Heidi Yip, Lily Chu, Jacky Chan, Ivan Kung, Abraham Fung, Liyana Pang)
Hitler: Have you found what I need?
Hitler’s assistant: Sorry Sir! I could not buy any as there is no salt all over Hong Kong. I have searched every supermarket, pharmacy, and grocery store, but I just can’t find any.
Hitler: Do you think I am a fool? Even a 3-year-old kid won’t believe you. Do you know who I am? I am the great leader of Germany, Adolf Hitler. I want salt! I want salt!
Hitler’s assistant: No…no…no…no…Sir, I am not lying, I swear! Turn on the TV, and you will know that I am your most loyal and sincere subordinate.
(Hitler gives a doubtful look and turns on TV.)
Reporter 1: The 9.0-magnitude earthquake in Japan has caused a global nuclear crisis. People all over the world are worried about the released toxic radiation. In Hong Kong, there are internet rumours that salt can ward off radiation. The citizens have become insane and they are stocking up on salt, all kinds of salt. Our reporter Ling Ling Chan has more…ah…I don’t mean salt…I mean more of the story.
Ling Ling: I am now in a market in San Hui. There is a long queue outside a grocery store. The price of a small pack of salt has already gone up to $1000.

Let’s talk to Professor Chu, who is an expert in nuclear energy.

Professor Chu: There is precisely no evidence to support that. Um…Never in my whole life have I heard about using salt as a radiation remedy. In fact, if you take too much salt, you will die of kidney failure before you die of radiation-related diseases.
Reporter 2: So what do you think about the citizens’ behaviour?
Professor Chu: I suggest that they should stop this unwise behaviour immediately.

What A Joke On That Night!（Lam Yee Fung）
Late last night I walked through the park to go to the shop. It was very cold and it had rained one hour ago. The street light was off, there was only a little moonlight. I walked on a hard path because the grass was wet, I watched everything too, I don’t like rainy days.
Suddenly, I heard someone behind me so I turned round. There was the ugliest person I had ever seen. It was a boy. He was slim and tall. He wore a black hat, a black coat and a pair of trousers. He also had many necklaces around his neck and some earrings on his ears. I also saw he had a horrible mask on his face, I thought he was a bad person and I tried to walk away.
When I wanted to walk past him, he took a knife from his pocket! I was very scared. He said, “Hey, I want you to give me something. Do you know what I want?”
“If you want money, I can give you!” I said and my legs were shaking.
“I’m sorry, I don’t want money. I only want to say......”
I didn’t want to know what he was going to do. I only knew I wanted to run away but my legs wouldn’t move. Suddenly the boy shouted at me; “Trick or Treat!”
What? Trick or Treat? What was he talking about? He said, “Give me some candy!”
Oh, I know! Today is Halloween. I forgot! It was amazing.
The boy told me the knife was only a toy. I felt very silly. Someone played a trick on me, What a funny joke.
That was the silliest thing on that day. Did you have a joke on Halloween?

MY UNEXPECTED GOAL（3B Chan Yau Yu, Sherry）
Receiving a sudden call from her supervisor, John’s mother was rushing to the office again. John’s mother just told John to take good care of Tim, a five-year-old toddler.
John had a football practice tonight. John complained to his mother, ‘But Tim won’t just sit and watch. How can I practice when a five-year-old is running around?’
Tim was excited about watching John practice. He run around the football court and jumping up and down. John was a bit annoyed.
‘Sit there, don’t run around!’ But Tim was so excited that he couldn’t hear John’s order, he was running between John and the team.
Other team members complained to John, ‘Your brother is disturbing our practice, make him sit at the back please!’ John had enough with Tim. He grabbed Tim’s hand and pulled him out of the court.
‘Sit here quietly and watch me practice, do not run around or go away.’ John returned to the team after scolding his little brother.
Tim was unhappy because he wanted to stay with his brother. He thought John would play with him while they were on the way to practice. After a few minutes, Tim felt bored. Suddenly he saw a beautiful shiny butterfly. Tim was following the butterfly. He didn’t know a man was behind him and he was holding a gun. John had finished his practice and he went to find Tim. He found that Tim wasn’t on his seat. John searched through the court but there was no trace of Tim. Suddenly, he heard some noises coming out from outside. He dashed in breathlessly and saw lots of police were there ---- a man was pointing a gun to a little boy.
‘Isn't the boy John’s brother?’ Someone shouted.
Snatched by a man, Tim was petrified. The man threatened the police. ‘Leave me alone or I’ll kill this boy.’ John couldn’t move, he was so scared he would lose his only brother.
‘John, John, where are you? I’m scared!’ John didn’t know what he should do but he had to save his brother. Suddenly, he ran into the court and got a football. Then he went out of the court with the football and saw the man was still there. He got behind the man and kicked the ball with all his might. The ball hit the man’s head and the man fell down. John quickly ran forward and got Tim. At last, Tim escaped from the man and hugged his brother tight.
The next day, John’s team was playing the game with the other team, the Wolfs. There were only five minutes left and John must goal if he wanted to win. He kicked the ball as powerful as he could just like what he did yesterday, finally it goaled. His teammates were yelling and hugging each other. The Braves won at last. When John turned back, he saw Tim was jumping up and down. He then took out his medal and put it on Tim’s neck. They went home happily.
This time, John didn’t let go of Tim’s hand.

Winners（3C Lai Hoi Ching）
This was a really good morning. John couldn’t sleep all night because he was extremely nervous, but also quite excited. His football team, the Braves, was going to play an important game tomorrow. After he had tidied himself up, he walked downstairs.
“Mum. Good morning.” said John, smiling to his mother.
“My dear. Good morning. Let’s have breakfast.” said his mother, putting the food on the table.
“Thank you, Mum” replied John, putting his jersey on.
“Oh my dear, your team is going to have a football match tomorrow, right?”
“Yes, I’m extremely nervous. And today is the last chance for us to practise.”
“Oh no, your little brother is on holiday. And today I have to go to work. Then no one will take care of him. So can you… please take him to the practice?” begged his mother.
John didn’t want to do that. It might affect the practice. But he said yes because it was his responsibility to take care of his brother.
They set off to school, John and his brother were hand-in-hand.
“Tim! Don’t give me any trouble, understand?” John demanded with his scary eyes.
“Yes, Sir! I will be the cheerleader for you!” answered Tim, smiling.
They arrived at school. Everyone was quite surprised.
“I promise. He will not give any trouble,” said John.
After that, they started their practice. Everyone tried their best for this last practice.
Suddenly, there was a crying sound.
“John! Come and play with me!”
“Please wait for me” said John, running out of the football court. But everyone seemed to be a little bit angry.
“Tim, you promised not to give me any trouble, right?”
“Yes.”
“Then, can you be the cheerleader for us? We need you.”
“Really? Yes, I can,” shouted Tim, laughing loudly.
Then the practice went on. It seemed Tim was really an excellent cheerleader. With his cheering, everyone did extremely well. And the practice ended.
“We are going to win that game!” said all the players as they started going home.
Then Tim and John were on their way back home.
“Tim, you have done extremely well. Thank you,” said John, patting Tim’s head.
“You are welcome! John. You must win tomorrow!
“Of course, we will” answered John confidently.

“You win! That’s great” shouted Tim, hugging his brother.
They went back home, hand-in-hand again.

Recently, all S3 students are learning the topic “Healthy Living”. We want to share with you some tips about how to lead a healthy lifestyle, especially on how to eat smart.
Scene 1
(Sherry is eating at McDonald’s)
Sherry : Hey, do you know eating McDonald’s is so unhealthy?
Bet: So what, but I can’t stop eating it. Don’t you think it is so delicious? Want some fries?
Sherry : No, thanks. I don't want to become supersized.
Bet: Come on, just a bite.
Sherry : In fact, junk food contains lots of sugar and fat but very low nutrition value. Have you ever watched a movie called “Super size me!”?
Bet: Never heard of this one before. What is it about?
Sherry : It’s about a man in the US trying to do an experiment on himself. He wanted to find out what would happen to him after eating McDonald’s meals for 30 days.
Bet: Wow, cool. How was he then?
Sherry: Well, he gained 25 pounds in 30 days! It is about 10% of his original weight!
Bet: Really? It sounds scary! Actually I feel I’ve put on weight recently…. But I just can’t live without them, especially McDonald’s, what can I do?
Sherry : Why don’t we listen to the conversations between the CEO of McDonald’s Mr. James Parkinson and our school’s dietician, Dr. Qiao Leung?

Qiao：Do you know that fast food plays an increasingly important part of our diet? A survey in Hong Kong showed that 10% of people eat fast food at least once a week! That’s really scary!
James(CEO of McDonald’s)： Oh! I see you point but it is quick and convenient. Also, fast food is very delicious and cheap too!
Qiao：Nonsense! Have you seen the movie “Supersize Me”? It’s about the terrifying health results of an actor eating your food for a whole month.
James：Oh! Ridiculous! Mcdonald’s food is very very healthy. Our ‘salad series’ is a good example. It contains plenty of vegetables which are tasty and good for your health!
Qiao: Are you kidding me?
James: I’m honest. Can’t you see almost every teenager loves eating fast food like Big Mac and French fries? But it seems that they don’t have such terrifying health problems. McDonald’s is the BEST! Hahaha… I’m lovin it! I’m lovin it!
Qiao：Come on, stop misleading us! Fast food such as French Fries contains excess fat, salt and cholesterol and it leads to many health problems which increase the chance of developing obesity, coronary heart disease, stroke, diabetes …… you name it!

Simon: After hearing the conversation between the dietician and the CEO of McDonald’s, we know that fast food is delicious but unhealthy.
Dylan: Yes, you are right! I won’t eat junk food anymore. I want to have a healthier lifestyle. I will eat food which is low in fat but high in fibre and exercise in the gym whenever I have spare time.
Simon: Good idea! But the fact is, most of the students do not notice the disadvantages of eating fast food and still continue their unhealthy lifestyle. Can’t you see how serious the problem is?

Reading Comprehension Report (4E Lee Sum Yin)

This book includes 4 detective stories, all of them are the classic one. Among them, Sherlock Holmes is my favourite.
The story takes place in the nineteenth century. The detectives use many special methods and techniques to solve the mystery and arrest the criminals. The story is presented chronologically. At the beginning, it all talks about the crime scenes and the events that trigger the crime. Then it talks about how the detectives collect evidences in the crime scenes and find the witness who spot the crime. Lastly, the detective can arrest the criminal.
After reading the four classic detective stories. I find this book very interesting. I can learn the ways to prove someone is guilty or not. It is very exciting to follow the steps of the detectives. After reading this book, I want to read Sherlock Holmes series. It makes me love detective stories.

How are you? How have been in England? I was hyped when I knew that you are coming to Hong Kong in Christmas holiday. I’m so sure you will enjoy chilling out with me during that time.
I have already scheduled the visit for you. I will pick you up when you arrive at the airport. You will be staying at my home when you are here so that my mom and I are going to arrange a greeting party for you. You will settle down soon and find it comfortable as my parents are so nice and they would love to meet you.
On Christmas Eve, I will be a local guide and show you around Hong Kong. We will probably visit places like the Peak, the SOHO district and some malls, they are huge and fantatically well-decorated! Christmas decorations are everywhere you go and some places are painted in red and white. They look drop-dead gorgeous and stunning. The sense of Christmas is hanging over the city even though Hong Kong is not a Christian country, isn’t it fantastic?
As I know you are a devoted Christian, so I will take you to a historial church in Hong Kong in the morning of Christmas. I’m sure you would love to have a look at how we celebrate Christmas as you have never seen them before. Later on, there will be a Christmas party in my place. All my friends will join and enjoy the party. You can take this as a gathering and to meet some new friends as you are sociable. My mother (Sam Yuen 4E/DE)
She works very hard to earn a living for the family. She is there to help the family all around the clock. She never says no to what we want. Who is she? She is our lovely mother.
My mother is a housewife but she has a part-time job, working as a clerk in a law firm. She does all the housework even she is very tired after working for the whole day. She said that our only responsibility is to study hard and strike for a place in universities instead of spending time on any other stuff. She is very responsible and we do not need to worry about the family because of her.
She has given birth to three children, my elder brother, Jim, and a twin brother of mine. We sometimes make her angry because we behave inappropriately. I remember one day, we promised to take care of ourselves because she needed to visit our grandma in the New Territories. She had, in fact, prepared the lunch boxes for us while she was not there at home. We three were so excited and we planned to lunch out together. Having lunch at home was rather boring, so we decided to lunch out that day.
Yet an accident happened, after having lunch, Jim did not feel well. He guessed he might get a stomache. We did not know what to do but sent him to the hospital. A doctor diagnosed that Jim was suffered from gastroenteritis. He had to be admitted to the hospital. He could only be discharged with being accompanied by an adult. We had to call our mother then even we knew we would seriously be punished. You know what? She did not punish us. She just worried about Jim. She comforted all of us!
Oh! Our dear mother, we love you very much.

School hero, my idol（4A Lai Yu Sum）
My school hero is Mr. Allan. He’s an Australian and he taught us English. Well, I think he’s the most excellent teacher in the world whose lessons are very meaningful.
He’s muscular and energetic, that’s why he talks like a machine gun shooting. (This would be better for describing his speed of speech!) He smiles all the time so we feel relaxed in his lessons. He’s funny that he always tells jokes to make us laugh. I remember one of our classmates, William, nearly laughed to faint in Mr. Allan’s lesson. I can see the power of jokes!
It’s a pity that our school doesn’t have an American football team, or Mr Allan would have led us win many games. He said that he was the manager of an American football team in Australia, which was called ‘Swan’. Futhermore, I’m not sure whether gum is a tradition in Australia or not. You can see a chewing gum in Mr. Allan’s mouth all the time. (If it is a truth that chewing gum is a source of power, I must follow suit.) I suppose Mr. Allan’s an expert of chewing gum, that I need to inform him when I want one.
There is no special reasons for him to be my school hero except his unique characters. He is kind, generous, humorous and polite to all his students. He’s keen on all kinds of sports so that many students like to talk to him. He could talk to his students like his best friends. That’s why he’s my school hero.
I hope if I am a teacher one day, I can be a teacher successful as him. I wish I can imitate him when I devote myself into the social service.

Dear Sam,
How are you? I miss you so much. It seems that you are vey happy in England. I’m glad for you, too.
Last time, you asked me about who my favourite actor and singer is. My favourite actor is Lai Yiu Cheung. He won the award of ‘The best male actor’ in 2009 and 2010 continually. He acts very well, that’s why he suddenly has a lot of fans. What makes him famous is his acting skills. Everyone loves to see his acting now. The character that he acts is La Shing. It is an exciting TV programme. I watched it every night. I think the characters in this TV programme are quite complicated. Audience need to spend a lot of time to understand the story Lai Yiu Cheung acts very well. I really love to see his acting.
My favourite singer is Kary Ng. She has a beautiful voice. She sings a lot of songs that make me feel touching. She can also sing rock songs too. Five months before. She joined a band called Hardpack. From that time, all of her new songs are rock. Kary can handle all the songs skillfully. Since Kary has joined the ‘Hardpack’, I love this band very much. The pianist and drummer performed quite well. I admire their rock sound.

Story / Plot:
Michael works for Drake and Sweeney as a lawyer and he earns lots of money. One day, a homeless man, Mister, goes to Drake and Sweeney because of an eviction. He attacks Michael, but Mister is shot by the policeman and is dead. Michael tries to discover who this man is, but he discovers a secret about Drake and Sweeney. The eviction is illegal and it leads to the deaths of Lonatae Burton and her children. At least, Michael’s life has changed. He is still a lawyer, but a lawyer for the homeless.
Setting / Blackground:
There are 400 lawyers working for Drake & Sweeney and they are paid an unbelievable amount of money. Although the lawyers earn a lot, they do not even help poor people. The cost for their lunch can feed a hundred of homeless people with soup, and Mister becomes homeless because of Drake & Sweeney’s eviction. That’s why Mister attacks the lawyers of D& S.

Short description of his appearance, personality etc: Michael is a rich lawyer. He has a wife called Claire, who is a doctor. Since both of them are very busy, it causes the end of their marriage. After their divorce, he meets Megan, who works for the homeless and it changes his life.

Reasons: At the beginning, Michael is not a good or kind person. He only cares about money and ignores his wife. But after the attack of Mister, he tries to know more about the homeless people. He tries to change himself from a person who is against homeless people to the one who helps them. I like him because he become a kind person. Although all of us are not perfect, we should change ourselves and try our best to achieve perfection

Honesty of reporters. Trust of readers（6A Frankie Chan）
As we all know, reading more current news is important for both students and people from all walks of life. We will totally lose the track of the world if we do not know about the news. Therefore, reading newspaper every day is a necessity for us. In order to make profit for their companies, the local reports are trying hard to dig out more news that readers seldom heard, even ignoring the credibility of newspapers which is, in contract, very important to the society. Let us discuss the issue in the following.
First and foremost, ignoring the accuracy of the reports is serious especially in the entertainment session of the newspaper. They all know that the readers attention can be drawn if they report some news the readers rarely know. Thus the commission for them will increase and so thus their profit. It is the main factor for them to write the reports without any evidence. Money looks as if the ‘delicious food’ in their eyes and they just want to get it in any methods both legal and illegal. Everyone who buys newspaper will be misguided in these ‘horrible’ reports. The credibility of the newspaper reports will be decreased although the ‘goal’ of them are fulfilled.
On the other hand, ‘paparazzi’ style of reporting is also serious among Hong Kong newspapers. Staying out the buildings that the ‘target artists’ lived is just a tip of iceberg. Following them and taking photos in the private places are also common among Hong Kong newspapers. The main reason for the reporters is to satisfy the curiosity of readers. Reporters caught up their curiosity and thus chasing the ‘targets’ that readers want to know. Effective though the method that reporters used, the freedom of artists or the victims will be ignored, as they are not invincible, stress comes to them and the pressure is harder to deal with.
After discussing the problems with Hong Kong newspapers, we can dig out that the credibility of reporters will be decreased eventually. But better late than never. If we want to save their credibility, the ways for them to improve is essential and urgent.
First of all, as the accuracy of reports are doubted by people, we can focus on it and find out some solution. I strongly believe that inviting some victims for the interview is an effective method to prove the truth of news. It does not only increase the accuracy of reports but also preserves people to trust the news and the newspaper companies.
Furthermore, as we discussed before, money is the main reason that attract reports to abuse the reporting press. To address on this problem, the companies of newspaper can join together for setting up some rules to save their credibility. To illustrate, the salaries of reporters will be lowered if the news they wrote is fake and the proof can be shown. After establishing this rule, the companies who jointed can post it to their own brand of newspapers and show it to the public. This does not only control the style of ‘paparazzi’ but also improves the quality of newspapers.
Having, ‘trust’ is important in the society by all parties. When the readers trust what reporters wrote, the reporters need to behave themselves, ‘Honesty’ is the essential part to maintain a harmonious society. If the readers can write the reports honestly, the readers will trust them and keep buying their newspapers I strongly believe that those a cycle. Start doing it from this moment is the only way to improve the credibility. Please take it as a serious problem and solve it right now!

Letter to the Editor（6B Leroy Yuen）
Dear Editor,
As a volunteer worker for the Cancer Foundation, I am writing to invite the public to take part in our coming charity run. One may ask why this charity run matters or what they would gain from this activity. Let me assure you that by joining this charity run not only are you helping the people in need, but you are also helping yourself.
First of all, the run raises money for cancer patients. The funds raised will be used in cancer research, which is incredibly crucial in the development of cancer treatment. A huge number of people are killed by this apathetic killer every year. We urgently need more advanced cancer treatment and medical technology, and this can be achieved by doing cancer research. Therefore, we really hope people can support us by participating in the run and showing their generosity to the cancer patients. The continual development of cancer research needs money. With your donations, we can go further in cancer research and thousands of precious lives will be saved.
Secondly, the charity run also helps in raising public awareness of the cancer disease. I believe many people know that cancer is one of the deadliest diseases in the world. Nevertheless, how many people truly understand the suffering of the cancer patients and thus offer comfort and help? In fact, everyone can give a hand; everyone can do something to alleviate the pain of the cancer patients. By participating in the charity run, you will know more about this disease and may have the chance to talk to some cancer patients. You are not just there to run; you are also showing your support and encouragement to the cancer patients.
Thirdly, this charity run provides a great chance for people to relax and have fun with their friends and family. The activity also helps them broaden their social lives as they will meet new friends. More, this run gives people a chance to exercise. Hong Kong people are too busy to think about their own health, family and friends. It is time for them to stop working and do something meaningful and relaxing, such as joining our charity run, together with their family and friends.
It is better to give than to receive. We should be thankful for what we have and reach out to the people who need our help. For the sake of a batter, peaceful world, let’s participate in the charity run together!

Lau Shing: (Drunk, angry) I’m here to help Sister Kau; she said some people were annoying her recently! I’m here to stand by her! Did someone humiliate her because she is still single at the age of 30? Who dares to say it again in front of me?
Cheng Long-hei: (pretending calm) Just ignore this hooligan! He is no one! Go away now!
Sister Kau: (take out the grenade) Don’t think about leaving this room! No one can leave until you tell me the secret! Someone told me you called my brother “son” and my brother called you “mum” when he was in the hospital a few months ago! Tell me now, what is the relationship between you and my brother?
Cheng Long-hei : Are you insane? I’ve nothing to tell you, just let me go!
Sister Kau : (Close the door) NO one can leave! Tell me the secret now, otherwise I will pull the pin!
Sister Kau : (Pointing at Mr. Fung) You, you tell me now! Do you want to die now?
Mr. Fung: (Very scared) Fine! Fine! I tell you the secret now! Actually… your brother is your aunt’s son… he…he… isn’t your brother! He isn’t your dad’s son… he…he…
Sister Kau : So… that’s the secret! Huh? Now everything is clear, that’s why you hate me for so many years? So you are doing everything for your own son, how can you make my dad raise up your own son? How dare you make my dad a fool?
Student A: It’s cool! I love this scene. Lau Shing and Miss Kau are excellent at acting!

Narrator: Another war arises, Sister Kau fled to the States since she is on the list of assassination. For 30 years, she has lost contact with Lau Shing. Finally they unite.

Sister Kau : I received a phone call from Ma Ko Pan, they said you work as a teacher here…
Lau Shing: Yea, I’m a shooting instructor in this school now, teaching cadets to shoot…

Proposal for the Summer Youth Exchange Programme (5A)
1. Introduction:
A student exchange programme is going to be organized this summer. We aim at helping them to learn about some Chinese customs and their life in Hong Kong. 50 to 55 students, aged 15-17, from the United States are visiting Hong Kong and staying here for about three weeks. We would like to suggest some interesting and cultural activities for them to do as well as provide them with opportunities to mix with local students.
2. Activities fro learning about life in Hong Kong
2.1 Visiting Tai O
Hong Kong was developed from a fishing community into an international financial center. It would be interesting to learn the history of Hong Kong by visiting Tai O because it is a famous fishing town and well known as “Venice of Hong Kong”. Furthermore, the exchange students could taste seafood in Tai O in different cooking methods, such as stir-frying, steaming and stewing, which are distinguished from western styles of roasting and baking.
2.2 Visiting Temple Street
I suggest we could visit Temple Street at night, where fortune-telling service could be found. It reflects Chinese traditional culture and beliefs. I believe it could be an impressive experience for them. Besides, we could find some Chinese products such as Chinese stamps, Chinese paintings, and so on.
2.3 Visiting Ping Shan Heritage Trail
Hong Kong is characterized by it skyscrapers. Yet, it is also eye-opening for the exchange students to visit our historical sites. The hexagonal Tsui Shing Lau Pagoda in Ping Shan Heritage Trail is perhaps one of the most striking architectural works. We could also spot other temples along the trail. The life of the old-day Chinese would be displayed to the students.
3. Activities to mix foreign with local students
3.1 School visit
In order to provide a chance for foreign student to realize Hong Kong’s teaching and learning style, we would like to arrange a school visit. We are going to form groups consisting of the exchange and local students. By doing so, they could interact with each other well as they are all in their teens.
3.2 Sports day
Sport is considered the common language and culture all over the world so we could hold a sports day to help the students to further mix together. For example, students from the United States and Hong Kong could form teams to compete with each other in a basketball competition. In this case, we could foster cooperation, team spirit and communication among the students.
4. Conclusion
We strongly believe that these activities could help the foreign students to experience Hong Kong life and make friends with local students. The activities would definitely leave them memorable episodes.

2.1 Visiting Tai O
Hong Kong was developed from a fishing community into an international financial center. It would be interesting to learn the history of Hong Kong by visiting Tai O because it is a famous fishing town and well known as “Venice of Hong Kong”. Furthermore, the exchange students could taste seafood in Tai O in different cooking methods, such as stir-frying, steaming and stewing, which are distinguished from western styles of roasting and baking.
2.2 Visiting Temple Street
I suggest we could visit Temple Street at night, where fortune-telling service could be found. It reflects Chinese traditional culture and beliefs. I believe it could be an impressive experience for them. Besides, we could find some Chinese products such as Chinese stamps, Chinese paintings, and so on.
2.3 Visiting Ping Shan Heritage Trail
Hong Kong is characterized by it skyscrapers. Yet, it is also eye-opening for the exchange students to visit our historical sites. The hexagonal Tsui Shing Lau Pagoda in Ping Shan Heritage Trail is perhaps one of the most striking architectural works. We could also spot other temples along the trail. The life of the old-day Chinese would be displayed to the students.
3. Activities to mix foreign with local students
3.1 School visit
In order to provide a chance for foreign student to realize Hong Kong’s teaching and learning style, we would like to arrange a school visit. We are going to form groups consisting of the exchange and local students. By doing so, they could interact with each other well as they are all in their teens.
3.2 Sports day
Sport is considered the common language and culture all over the world so we could hold a sports day to help the students to further mix together. For example, students from the United States and Hong Kong could form teams to compete with each other in a basketball competition. In this case, we could foster cooperation, team spirit and communication among the students.
4. Conclusion
We strongly believe that these activities could help the foreign students to experience Hong Kong life and make friends with local students. The activities would definitely leave them memorable episodes.

The value of holding junior positions (5E So Tsz Ying)
I think it is unnecessary for young people to hold a senior position in the first few years after graduation.
First, a lack of work experience in junior positions may prevent young people from being good leaders even however brilliant they are. Without the experience, it can be difficult for them to be empathetic with the difficulties and needs of their subordinates. They may therefore become too strict and inconsiderate.
Second, working in junior positions can allow young people to gain valuable experience. In the junior positions, young people can learn to cooperate with others but not just giving orders which enable them to be good team players.
Finally, holding junior positions, young people can enjoy more spare time for further studies. After a few years of sustaining learning, they will be equipped for capability of carrying out duties in senior positions.
In a nutshell, young people should value the opportunity to equip themselves in junior positions at the beginning of their career. Do you agree with me?

Pursuing Your Dreams and Careers (Mr. Jacob Kung)
Good morning, Principal, Teachers and Students,
Today, as a Careers Guidance teacher, I’m very pleased to have this opportunity to share with you my working experience and why we’ll have to be responsible for pursuing our dreams and careers.
This year, we’ll help you to learn different virtues and responsibility is one of them. Do you know what responsibility is? Is the word “responsibility” difficult for you? Perhaps I’d use another word “D-U-T-Y”. If we have a responsibility or a duty, we’ll have to do something and can’t give up.
Perhaps you’ll agree with me that we can’t avoid doing some duties in our life. One of the things we’ll have to do is to pursue our dreams and careers. However, it is not easy to protect your dream and find a job that suits you best.
I believe finding a career that suits our true passion is very important. Ask yourself these questions, "What am I passionate about?" and “What do you always like to do?” You will discover what type of job suits you best by thinking about your interests.
For example, like a few students in MKP, if you’re serious about playing football and like to be a football player in the future, you’ll have to protect your dream and work extremely hard to make football your career. Although the training will be hard, you can’t give up because it’s your duty to protect your dream and career. Please don’t tell yourself you’re just a little bug. Please don’t quit your training and said football isn’t for you.
Like me, I dreamed to be a pilot when I was a small child. However, I haven’t protected my dream and my eyes. As a result, because I did NOTHING, I COULDN’T DO ANYTHING.
I finally had another dream when I was in secondary school. I wanted to be a teacher. When I was in university, I told myself that this time had to be different. I started to read hundreds of reference books, watch hours of videos and do a lot of part-time teaching to learn how to be a good teacher. When I left university, I realized my dream and became a teacher in a secondary school in Tin Shui Wai.
I guess we all need to be patient in pursuing our dreams and careers. We have to prepare ourselves very well for the chances in the future. We have to find our interests, know what we want to do as our careers, take up our responsibilities and just go for it!

An Unforgettable Interview with Reverend David Dean

On 26 June, we went to Mong Fook Church in Mong Kok with our teacher and Dr. Michael Leung to interview a Reverend. His name is Rev. David Dean and we asked him lots of questions about Christianity, his work as a missionary, his family and how we should live a Christian life. Some of our questions are as follows:
1.As a Christian, what do you think about those so called “Pseudo Models” in Hong Kong?
2.As drug abuse among teenagers is getting serious, do you think Christianity can help solve such problem? Why?
3.Since pre-martial sex is more common among teenagers nowadays, how will you appeal them to stop doing this?
4.What will you advise us to overcome all difficulties in our daily lives?
5.How will you guide a teenager to follow Jesus?
6.Did you feel any pressure from other people when you became a missionary?
7.Why did you become a missionary? Anything happened in your life that made you want to become a missionary?
8.As a Reverend, what’s your opinion about honesty?
9.Is that possible to be honest all the time as a Reverend?
10.What do you think about white lies? Can you accept it?
11.Do you expect your sons to become Reverends? Do you have any expectations of their careers?
As you may imagine after viewing our questions, interviewing Rev. Dean was a totally new experience for us because we had never asked a Reverend so many questions. We were amazed by Rev. Dean’s answers because he answered our questions patiently and based on what the Bible says to share a lot of opinions with us about honesty, chastity and so on. We were eager to know more about his thoughts.
We all felt that nobody, except Rev. Dean, could share his views about different taboos like teen sex with us openly. We could learn from him about the ways we should do to be good Christians in this world. Now, we all understand that we should live like submarines in the ocean. We are in this world, but not of this world. We should follow the footsteps of Jesus Christ and determine to live a Christian life so that we can all be good witnesses of God to the world.
Was talking to him funny and meaningfully? Of course! It was an unforgettable morning to all of us. It would be great if we could talk to him again to share our ideas with each other once more.
